If you’re looking for real Southern fried chicken in Montgomery, Clay’s is the truth! The chicken is seasoned to perfection—crispy, juicy, and full of flavor in every bite. The sides are just as good (don’t skip the mac & cheese or collard greens), and the sweet tea hits the spot. Staff is always friendly and the service is quick. This is that down-home cooking that keeps you coming back. Highly recommend!

My first and last time going. I ordered 1 catfish basket, 1 shrimp basket with okra instead of fries, 1 whiting basket and 1 daiquiri which came out to $51. 28. I received tilapia instead of catfish. I called and was told to take a picture and show it to her tomorrow. She will decide whether to fix me another catfish basket. That was my fault for not checking the food before I left. I thought everyone knew the difference between catfish and tilapia. I ate 2 shrimps, some fries, and drunk the daiquiri. All of a sudden, my stomach started hurting. My stomach was tore up. The rest of those baskets are going in the trash. No more Clay Seafood for me.

Went by today!! Wait wasn't that long. Clean and welcoming atmosphere. The lady taking my order was nice and inviting. Food was ok wasn't the best but wasn't the worst either. I had a small seafood boil. I'm not counting them out I'll revisit soon

The cashier was respectful and nice the food wasn't good it had no seasoning so I wasn't able to enjoy my food I had the beef tips and rice and Mac and cheese with yams the food tasted like food from the hospital .... Just wasn't up to par as far as soul food... It was my first time eating at the restaurant and it will be my last time eating there
