Chubby's Tacos Raleigh

Love this place! Just ordered the carnitas tacos and were excellent. It was a nice balance of taste between the tortilla, meat, onions and cilantro. Juicy, not oily or dry. The people are always nice and the service is solid. The atmosphere is very welcoming. Highly recommend, it's my go to taco place in Raleigh.

What a letdown. Chubby Tacos really lived up to the name, the food was tired and sluggish. The tortillas tasted like they’d seen better days… probably last week. I ordered the birria plate, and the consomé was scraping the bottom of the pan, mostly onions with a side of disappointment. Honestly, the best part of the whole visit was the music. At least the playlist had some flavor, because the food sure didn’t.

I've been to chubbys numerous times (usually on tuesday for $2 tacos) and It's a mediocre taco spot with a shit liquor selection but we always have the best time when we're here!! Their salsa bar is great along with the Chile relleno taco and the tortas too!!

Got lunch at Chubby Tacos for the first time. Good variety of salsas at the salsa bar. The birria were fantastic. The consome was smokey and flavorful and made every dipped bite delicious.

I do not understand how this place has so many raving reviews. Our entire meal genuinely tasted like it was microwaved. The rice was hard. The refried beans tasted like canned chili and were heavily over salted. Our drink was so heavily overpowering that it was undrinkable. The only saving grace to me is that they do have a lot of options and the staff is amazing, very kind and helpful. The chips and queso were awesome. We expected that as expensive as this place is that it would’ve been to a higher standard. Very disappointed and we feel taken advantage of.
