Chubby's Southern BBQ

Update, June 2024: They now offer more flexibility on their menu, and have 4 small tables for dining in. Food was yummy. Service was slow. Took 35 min to get our 2 sandwiches and onion rings. We ate lunch at Chubby's for the first time today. Delicious pulled pork, excellent baked beans. There are just 2 tables inside, and some picnic tables out back for use in good weather. Steady business. Great addition to the community! We went again for supper take out. The ribs were very good. We find the serving size of the sides to be too small for the price. My pulled pork sandwich was also goof. If they sold their beans and pulled pork in tub containers to go, they would sell well.

This place is literally in the middle of nowhere!That’s too bad, because this is some excellent Memphis BBQ!!! The BBQ sandwich is full of pulled pork and Haleigh told us their burger is also insanely delicious. The wings were smoked and grilled which turned out to be very tasty. The potato salad was different, better than 80% of potato salads out there. Those who don’t know, Memphis BBQ has red sauce instead of Carolina BBQ which is the actual meat.

We weren’t in the mood for BBQ so we got the hurricane burgers. I had Mac and cheese and my husband got the beans. They were great. A little on the messy side. The Mac was very cheesy and the beans were tasty! The sweet tea was perfectly sweet for us. There is free popcorn if you want an appetizer. The inside is small, just a couple tables. They have some great merch too. I really enjoyed the music they were playing. And the prices are very reasonable!

Normally I'm the kind of person to post a picture of the brand new food coming out but it smelled so good I just dug in, so I present our clean plates!! This is a MUST STOP if you like good BBQ, incredibly tender and flavorful, but not overbearing. Their coleslaw is amazing, and their mac and cheese is to die for. I'm based about an hour and a half away and I'll make the trip just to get more! Don't listen to me though, stop by and you'll keep coming back! Side note: the place was in tip-top shape. Absolutely clean, fantastic service from the nice girl at the counter. 4 of us came, and 4 of us cleaned our plates. We even grabbed a side of mac for the road!

Chubby's food is great. It is not "Carolina Style" vinegar BBQ, but rather Southern Pit-style BBQ. I've had their ribs, chicken wings, chicken thigh sandwiches, and chicken tenders ... OMG. Their fries are great, as well as their baked beans ... I'll even eat their slaw (I don't eat slaw). Oh yeah, if you get a bag of their pork skins, you probably won't want to buy any from anywhere else ... they're these stinking good. Right now, they only offer Take-out, or some picnic tables out back ... but they do have a restroom. I hope they continue to make great food for years to come.
