After all the recommendations to try the Mongolian Beef, we were excited to try it! It had great flavor but an insane amount of onions. Maybe this is other people’s tastes but it was a surprising amount of onions and not enough beef for the price. The general tso’s was great! The chicken was still crispy even with a generous amount of sauce and the flavor was addicting. We also liked the cucumber salad, it was a nice fresh side to have with the heavier main dishes. The interior was clean and very nicely lit up. We’ll be back!! We’re excited to try some more authentic/traditional dishes next time.
I thought this place was average. We got take out which seems like everyone does. The place was packed with people waiting for orders but not a lot dining in. The food lacked flavor in my opinion and the noodles were just ok. The sauces were quite watery which might have attributed to the flavor. We all mildly enjoyed their food and ate leftovers but it just wasn’t my favorite Chinese food that I have had. Not sure if it is better in the restaurant than the take out or maybe we just ordered the wrong stuff. The door dash drivers said they are always in there so the people must like it! Maybe we just went on an off day.
As an Asian and a big foodie, I can vouch that this is BEST SZECHUAN in the Triangle!!! Def more a hole in the wall vibe and admittedly not located in the best part of Raleigh but regardless, we like to go in to eat there so the food is as fresh as possible. The staff is very nice. Our favorite go to dishes: - Spicy Chongqing Chicken (it’s not actually that spicy) - Dan Dan Noodles - Bamboo Flounder Fish - Twice Cooked Pork Belly - Dry Fried String Beans - Spicy Hot Pot It’s delicious. You won’t be disappointed!
We regularly get take out from Chuans. Every time it’s amazing. Quality is definitely higher than your typical Chinese takeout spot. Best dishes imho: stir fried ho fun with beef, sea same chicken, chili wontons, hot and sour soup 🤌💯
This place is a gem. Food was incredible, they absolutely nailed the spice level on every dish, lots of heat but it never overpowers the rich flavors (or made me slow down eating). The fried eggplant and the flounder were immaculate, crisp, and melt in your mouth. I ate a lot, but left feeling great. Not too heavy on the stomach! All around a tremendous experience. We will be back very soon.
