China Star Superbuffet

The food was about as good as you can expect from a buffet. We were two adults and a 3-year-old, and the total came out to $55, which feels excessive for what was offered. We only saw our server maybe twice during the entire visit. At that price point, you’re honestly better off ordering from a quality restaurant where the food and service match the cost.

Restaurant didn’t have air conditioning on a Saturday. Male rest room required you to put toilet paper in trash can because their sewerage line I guess doesn’t work. Soap dispenser broken off wall. Pee all over floor. Staff attentive. Soda tea not included. Manager walking around with microphone calling to kitchen staff. Interesting place. Random signs all over place. Makes a weird feeling as a customer.

Food and service mediocre. We asked for to go drinks and were informed they were $1 a piece. We then learned they were Coke products in a can from a cooler behind the counter. The restaurant only offers Pepsi products with the meals. This is by far the shadiest and dumbest thing I’ve ever seen for a to go drink! Definitely won’t be back.

I almost didn’t go here because of the low rating and it was really good so now I feel obligated to share my experience to help them out. For reference, I went to dinner on a Sunday night. The atmosphere is great. Big. Nostalgic if you went to Chinese buffets as a kid. It was clean. For the food, there were loads of options and honestly 90% of it was way better than it had any right to be. The chicken on a stick was actually grilled. And tasted like it. All of the misc. meat and veg dishes were tasty and they all tasted different (not that sloppy msg-sauce flavor that some buffets have where everything tastes the same). Hostess was very sweet, BUT the management was unkind when it came to my disability. I took one bite of food, but I was in too much pain to eat. My wife and family ate mine so it wouldn't go to waist. I asked and apologized, but the still charged me full price for a bite of chicken. Again, the hostess was very sweet though.
