China House - Oakmont

China House was a disappointment, especially for the price. We ordered General Tso’s chicken, two Sweet & Sour chicken, and Sweet & Sour shrimp. All of which were soggy and lacked flavor. The crab Rangoons were extremely chewy and hard to bite through. The menu says fried rice is a $1 upcharge, but we were charged $2.50. They also added a $4 upcharge for noodles. No pricing was given ahead of time, so when I arrived and saw a total of $92 for four meals, I was shocked. That was more than $20 higher than what I had estimated, even with tax. When I asked about it, they simply said they changed the prices. They should make customers aware of the price change. Disappointed every time you go they add on charges that they do not inform you of. Today I ordered two lunches that most places offer white or fried rice. Ordered one lunch with fried rice and when paying was $1.50 more but not informed when placing order by phone. Might not seem so bad but this is the same place that if you ask for your rice in a seperate container so the sauce doesn’t seep into the rice charges you for containers that they also do not tell you about until showing up and paying. Need to inform people on the phone and not just expect it is all ok. Chicken is also dry. And the order was messed up after charging extra and not noted until you get home. Check your orders and charges!

My absolute favorite spot to order Chinese takeout for the past 7 years! Their vegetable steamed dumplings (and dumpling sauce) are phenomenal every time! Food is always hot, orders are quick, and the workers are so friendly! I recommend this place to everyone I know constantly!

The food was pretty good. The spot itself is laid back, hole in the wall type of place. A solid choice for dinner (and the Oakmont Bakery is right there for dessert, too). I went for a simple order and just tried their fried dumplings. They were nothing special but not bad. The stuffing itself is pretty good. Pork, a lot of cabbage, a bit of other vegetables. Sort of bland on the inside, though. It pairs well with the dumpling sauce. I didn't really like the dumpling casing, though. It was very hard and tasted somewhat stale. The balance of stuffing to casing was a tad bit off as well. Otherwise, a solid spot. Nothing special but you have all the classic American-Chinese dishes offered here. Portions are okay, and prices are a bit higher than average.

This place is must go for anyone in the area they make the food fast hot fresh etc. Staff is all family or friends it they seem super close super nice to A hole customers that walk in giving them crap. We go to that are one time a year and make sure to stop by and drop a quick 100$ in food. The portions are large, rice and everything we’ve ever order has been absolutely fire!!! They have you eat on paper plates and plastic forks so that they don’t have to wash dishes which is cool with me! Cause it’s like being at the house just chilling! They come check you often. Place isn’t very large so most orders are to go’s. Will always be a main stop when going to that area
