Thoroughly mid. Not bad, not exactly good Chinese food, either. I don't think the woman at the counter spoke English well because I asked for twice-cooked pork and she kept trying to give me pork & broccoli as if she understood. It took me a minute to realize the dish was written "double cooked pork" in their menu and she didn't make the connection either. That itself is fine, what's annoying is that she kept trying to pass off pork & broccoli as the same dish (it is not). As for the food, it was okay. I'm still not sure if I got the dish I was supposed to receive because everything just came out a bit mushy and drowning in brown sauce. It tasted fine, and there was a lot of it (enough for me to freeze and eat a few days later), but that's the best I can say about it. Oh, and it came out

I'm a bit disappointed. I've ordered a lot from China Express in the past and today I asked for 3 large white rices and was charged $33.30! That's over $10 for each plain white rice! I was a bit shocked. The small rice is only $3 dollars on their menu and if I had gotten 2 of them that would be $6 dollars to equal one of the bigger sizes. But $10 dollars each?! The woman who owns the place ripped me off and I had a feeling but didn't want to make a scene. Never going to go there again and for those who still do, be careful and make sure to check your receipts because you could be getting charged a lot more than you should. Great place for Chinese takeout with solid lunch special options! If you order from their website their prices are better (vs. DoorDash and I assume other delivery apps) and you get deals if you spend a certain amount. I got the General Tso & Orange Chicken lunch specials, vegetable lo mein and crab rangoons and got a pint of General Tso chicken as a freebie! They didn’t skimp and the lo mein (I got the small) was absolutely packed. The delivery was on time and they were very nice, 10/10 option in the area!

I’ve never gotten anything too exotic here, but I would say the food is average takeout Chinese food. The awful thing about this place is if you go into pick it up the glass at the front looks like it hasn’t been cleaned in a decade, There’s literally splatters cobwebs, dirty handprints. You can barely see through it. It’s just so gross. It makes you wonder about the cleanliness in the kitchen.

Such a disappointment when Chinese restaurants make general Tso’s shrimp like this. The breading is hard and unappetizing, the shrimp doesn’t get the flavor of the sauce, and it’s messy when it doesn’t come prepared. If you wouldn’t serve the chicken this way, why serve the shrimp like this?
