Soooo underrated! The food was high quality, came out piping hot, and everything was flavored perfectly. This was pretty close to food I ate in Kuala Lumpur! I definitely recommend these three dishes if you're new to Malaysian food: Char Kway Teow, Curry Mee (Singaporean Laksa), and the Nasi Lemak Bento. You can't go wrong with Hainan Chicken too. Sooo tender and simply delicious. My favorite parts of the restaurant are the friendly service, sauce bar, huge selection on the menu, and the herbal chicken broth ON TAP! So good!

Came here for lunch on a weekend with some friends after hearing about this place on social media. We have tried various Singapore/Malaysian restaurants in the Bay Area and wanted to see how this one fare. We were not disappointed. The Char Kway Tiao and egg Hor Fun were well fried and had good wok hey - something which is hard to find anywhere. The curry puff is very fluffy and the filling flavorful. We also had chicken rice and noodles. The restaurant is located in an old school Asian/Vietnamese strip mall (think traditional herbal medicine and sundry store) with plenty of parking. Order at front counter and seats are first come first serve. Overall a good choice if in area.

If you’re craving authentic Malaysian cuisine in the Bay Area, you need to check out Chicken Licious in San Jose! This place is such a gem, everything from the service to the flavors felt warm and homey. Right after ordering, the owner gave us a little soup cup to fill with warm chicken soup for free! It was the perfect cozy start. There are also two kinds of fruit-infused water, both super refreshing, especially with all the spicy dishes. The sauce bar deserves its own shoutout, there's so many options, and honestly every single one tasted great. My favorite was the spicy garlic sauce, it was absolute perfection with every dish. We ordered the Ayam Bakar meal, and it completely blew us away. The chicken was unbelievably juicy and packed with smoky, deep flavor. Even the rice was seasoned

Order at kiosk, get your utensils and water. If you are eating in, you will be given bowls for the broth. We ordered egg rolls, both kinds. Also shared char kway teow and nasi lemak. We liked the egg rolls and noodles, fun textures. The nasi lemak is an acquired taste with plenty of ginger and lemon grass. Our chicken serving had two backs and not enough meat. The sauce was a tad oily.

We got the Hainan chicken to-go. It was a well-rounded and very filling meal. The chicken seemed like it was poached in soy sauce and oil, it was very tender yet chewy. But I thought the chicken and rice by themselves were too bland for me at first. But the spicy red sauce and salad were so flavorful that when you eat it all together, they balanced out the mild flavor from the chicken and rice. I’d say my favorites were the fermented(?) vinegary cabbage mixed with the fresh spring mix veggies and the red sauce. Those 2 were the flavor bombs. I liked everything about the veggies. The red sauce is a bit salty by itself so it’s best to eat it with the chicken and rice together, or just used as a dip for the chicken. Overall, Hainan chicken tasted healthy. I think I prefer the Malaysian vers
