Chicken Box Cafe

I was in town for work and decided to stop by for the time because I wanted some chicken. I seen they had pork chops on the menu and I decided to have that instead. When I tell you this pork chop was cooked to perfection. Those chops was so tender and flavorful. I waited till I got home to eat and my grandbaby, who doesn't usually eat pork chop tasted these chops and he loved them and helped me eat them. I will be back again. Also customer service was top tier. Very nice people.

This place may be small in size but it’s BIG on flavor and hospitality! I flew in for a day trip and walked 45 minutes (no Uber in the country town) but the walk was worth it. The owners are Will and Tina know how to cook amazing chicken and BBQ and equally important, they know how to make you feel like family! If you’re local, I hope you’ll support them. If you’re passing through, I think you’ll be glad you stopped in to eat as you travel. Will and Tina - I’m cheering for your success!!

We met the New Owner who mentioned to us that he changed the recipe slightly. The flavor of the chicken was delicious and was through out the whole piece, very moist and flavorful not greasy. Awesome a must try. Georgia fried chicken at its best!

Deen, Red "Rooster" and the gang was so kind, friendly and enjoyable, all of them came over and introduced themselves, we were catching up like we knew each other forever, but let me tell you about the food, it was so good, the wings/double hamburger make you want to slap somebody. Seriously if you are in McCrae, Ga., please stop by to see the gang at the Chicken Box Cafe-you will not be disappointed! And the wings were so pretty, like my grandma fried them herself.

the food is well-seasoned, the staff is friendly, and the service was quick. the sunday special was a meat (chicken or meatloaf), two sides, a dessert, and a drink for $12. chicken is juicy, hot, fresh, and crispy. i had the yellow rice and lima beans. the rice was different than i expected -- in a soupy creamy sauce -- but it was very well-seasoned and not mushy at all. i actually really liked it. lima beans were proper, country style lima beans: cooked until beige with some chicken in them and well-salted, which is perfect. really great food, home-cooked style, and $24 for two full plates felt like a good deal. we will be back!
