Chevo's Mexican Restaurant

I always ride past this spot and never thought to stop until today. It was Very peaceful. I had a mango margarita, three birria tacos on flour. Very good! Seasoned well. My husband had fish and shrimp with rice and a load potato. He also said his food was great.

It was my first time ordering at the restaurant and I purchased rice and beans and the total was much higher than I had calculated so I asked the cashier why and she said they do a mandatory 10% to go fee. Funny. This mandatory 10% to go fee isn't mentioned anywhere on their website and when I order online it's not there at all. I do think the cashier simply added in herself a tip and this is a problem I have with Latino restaurants. The cashiers add in tips without asking. It's happened before. Regarding their food the rice and beans are good. However, sometimes the beans are total mush. I get it refried beans have lost some texture but their beans are nothing but paste. I don't like that. Been coming here since they first open. Is it true a banger? Better believe it! Want a burger, skip the fast food, 11$ gets you the best burger in Macon. Want burritos they got them! Want traditional mex in Macon, skip the rest, this is the place! Want staff of personality. This is it. They are always trying recipes and items. These ribs are pne of there's seasonal items. This place needs a Guy shinning spotlight!

Food was OK. I expected more Latin flavor with my food but it was definitely bland considering other Mexican restaurants that I've visited.

Hands down! One of the best Mexican spots in Macon. Perfect portion, perfect steak cut, great and amazing price, very affordable. Their birria queso is so good, the soup broth very tasty. I always don't want refried beans whenever I ordered my fajitas so without even asking they gave me extra rice, which is perfect. I always love rice. The server was very polite and attentive it's just she forgot to offer us to go cup, but it's not a problem. This place surprisingly good, as new player in Macon area this place has a lot to offer. Also they has option to pay by scanning the barcode tru our phone so we dont have to wait for the waitress to get our tab, very efficient!
