Chestnut-Manor Bed & Breakfast

We stayed two nights and had two great breakfasts. Jim and Launa are very warm and welcoming. They put a lot of work into restoring this mansion and they also work hard to make guests feel welcome. We especially enjoy when hosts sit down and have breakfast with us so we can get to know each other--and that is what Jim and Launa did. My wife, Lexie, and I highly recommend this beautifully restored B&B.

This was our first visit and when in the area again will not hesitate to stay at Chestnut Manor. We were felt very welcomed upon arrival and all our needs where anticipated. Our room was very cozy with a sunroom attached where we were able to sit and relax and enjoy a nice glass of wine while listening to our favorite music. Unfortunately we had to leave without eating breakfast but the table looked very inviting and the coffee was great.

My family and I stayed here for 2 nights when visiting Lewistown for a family reunion. Gorgeous Victorian mansion that has been lovingly restored and updated by the owners. ||I stayed in the beautiful Mann Room which has its own bathroom. So comfortable, great night's sleep in a king-size bed. Downstairs you'll find the parlor with TV, dining room, and sun room. Lovely decor and antique furniture throughout. ||Owners Launa and Jim are delightful, so welcoming. Breakfast was delicious and they graciously accommodated request for gluten-free and nut-free foods. Breakfast is served between 7 and 9 a.m.||We will definitely stay here again!

Where do I begin? My wife and I are not new to the B&B experience having stayed in eleven over the years. Chestnut Manor is the perfect combination of history, charm, elegance and warmth. Launa and Jim have found their calling. Just looking around you see the love and sweat they have both poured into this quest. ||We stayed in the Master Bedroom. This room is spacious. The furniture is large. No lack of storage to unpack. The bed will have you sleeping like a baby. The sheets are soft. The pillows make for great dreaming. The bathroom features are original and beautiful. The water pressure was great. The towels are soft. Robes are provided. You choose the amount of natural light you want to allow in the room. ||Breakfast was wonderful. The portions were ideal. You get something different

We stayed at the Chestnut Manor for the weekend of the Penn State - Minnesota game. got there late evening on Friday and were greeted by Launa, the Innkeeper. What a nice lady. She was very nice and very eager to make sure your stay was a pleasant one. The house is gorgeous. We stayed in the back of the house and loved it. The room was spacious, extremely clean and very comfortable. Launa showed us around, took us to our room then gave us directions to a very nice restaurant which we needed after the long trip. We had two nice breakfasts to get our days started off on the right foot. The manor is roughly 25 miles from State College so it was very convenient. Highly recommend it.
