Cherry Hill Township Department of Public Works

I am really happy with that my experience at the public Works facility. The representative was informative and respectful and the whole process of recycling. My parents old light fixtures was very easy and seamless. We always hear horrible reviews, but I think that we should commend people when they really step up and go over and beyond their work responsibilities. Thank you so much again for helping us do our part keeping toxic metals and chemical chemicals out out of the landfill.

The trash/recycling employees are very hard working- I don't doubt that, especially with this past summer's several heatwaves. The DPW, however, is an another story. As someone with houses currently on both the west and east side, they really prioritize the east side, especially complexes (guess they don't want to piss off thousands vs. the one small single family). Why is it that even with phone calls saying hey, you missed this street once again, recycling is skipped for weeks. Or, only one side of the street gets picked up. You are told a complaint will be put in and dealt with. Well, zero action. Rain and the elements lead to receptacles overflowing, boxes disintegrating. Unhealthy and unsightly. I've lived in Cherry Hill for 66 years. And with the taxes going up and the quality of service going down it's totally unbelievable. Recyclable pickup, have a scheduled day and they don't even bother picking them up for 2 weeks. Call the township they tell you they'll be out in 2 days, didn't happen. I'm sure they can get another contractor to collect the recyclables but just like typical politics someone at the township is probably related to someone in at the recyclable company.

Horrible township to live in when they want to give people that pay exuberant amounts of money to live here a hard time about replacing things that the township breaks. Terrible customer service. Terrible way to deal with people who pay a lot of money to live here.

I have been a long time residence of Cherry Hill township and let me tell you that the quality of public works in this township has been going down hill since 2019. Property tax, sew and garbage taxes go up every years and collect on time. The only thing that is not on time is the pick up date for trash, recycle materials, and leave collection. In my area, trash and recycle bins are supposed to be picked up by the end of the day on Friday/weekly. Now, they are not until the next Tuesday. That is if we are lucky. Most of the time, they only pick up either the trash or recycle and leave the other bin for the following day or whenever they feel like it.
