Chen's Garden

So, I’ve been ordering from Chen’s Garden off and on for the last 11 years or so since moving to the area. In all my past instances, I’ve found their food to be over and beyond quality wise compared to other Chinese food restaurants in the area. It’s been awhile since we’ve ordered from them as I wasn’t working nearby like I used to and I’d stop in to do takeout at least once a week and today, we found ourselves craving Chinese and happened to be nearby. Our order was simple, quart of wonton egg drop soup and two combination dinners, one being the boneless ribs and my wife ordered the orange chicken. This order was done at the counter, not called in so, hard to make an error when ordering face to face (so you’d hope). While waiting, as usual, the lady and the man (owners I believe) were

I did a door dash and I couldn't believe they came up to Oak Hill area. Very good General Zso!! Definitely ordering again.

The food was lovely! I travel through Morganton every month and stopped here today for dinner. The staff was sweet and the restaurant had a homey feel. I will definitely be stopping here everytime I travel for the Hunan Beef. Big portions and good tasting ingredients.

Chen's Garden takes care to make their steamed broccoli fresh and clean. That's the only thing I've had from there, but it all smells good. Staff is friendly, service is timely, and their prices are very good. I appreciate having them in our community.

I must express my disappointment with the Chinese cuisine I recently experienced. The "chicken" in dishes such as the sesame chicken and sweet and sour chicken appeared to consist primarily of breading and sauce, with a noticeable absence of actual chicken meat. The pricing seemed misaligned with the quality of the ingredients, as it felt as though we were primarily paying for breading rather than a substantial meal. This experience left us dissatisfied with the restaurant's offerings.
