Chaupain Bakery

Dare I say I actually felt like I was in Europe with how divine these croissants are!? The pistachio croissant is not too sweet, and has genuine pistachio filling. The almond croissant was a sweet treat. I also bought a few butter croissants to-go to enjoy with my eggs at home in the mornings. The butter is a classic and definitely my favorite! Definitely going to be back for more. The worker was so kind in answering my questions and I enjoyed the environment.

At a time when inflation has driven even lame chain fast-food to premium prices, I find myself loving Chaupain bakery more and more. I truly feel like every dollar is well-spent here. Their pastries? Phenomenal, well-made and beautiful, with some of the smoothest pastry cream I've encountered. Their breakfasts? SO delicious, with great portion size. Highly recommend their bacon mushroom and leek quiche! Every time I've been here, staff have been quick and helpful. The only tricky part is finding a table haha, there's a reason this place is so popular!

This is what we got from Chaupin Bakery, located on Del Mar Road. Restaurants in Del Mar are usually pretty pricey since it’s a tourist spot, but this was under $8—and SO good!! Loved it. Already thinking about visiting again… if I can find a parking spot 😄

We live in SC and have been here many times. They just remodeled the place with a lot more room inside to order and sit. We always sit outside and enjoy the SC street scene on Sunday AM’s. Their food is really top notch - see attached pic of breakfast burrito and egg/bacon on croissant. Their service is slow, but that’s OK - you don’t go here for a quick stop-by. You go here to relax and enjoy.

This place has the best croissants, so crispy and delicious. I got the butter croissant, almond croissant and a mango and coconut pastry. They were all excellent. Their breakfast menu looks amazing as well. Try this place out if you are in San Clemente.
