Chatham Street Diner

The food was phenomenal!!! We don’t remember anything that we ate. All we remember is how good it tasted. Kidding, the hashbrowns/potatoes were hands down our favorite, no onions and cheese needed but those toppings made it even better. We had the smoked salmon and big breakfast. Every bite made us look at each other and say, this is soooo delicious. The service was just as good and it really had that classic diner feel. As a music lover I loved the record and cassettes on the wall.

Came across this place because of a friend and I must say it was a pleasant surprise of how good the food was. They have good space but most of all great customer service. Our server was very kind. Food was good too. Everything was fresh and tasty. A must try for a breakfast place in downtown Windsor.

Food was okay! Nothing crazy just average. We got an omelette, burger melt with fries, toast & home fries. Would possibly come again in the future to try other things.

While I usually enjoy exploring new places, there’s something about comfort food that makes you want to stick to what you love. For anyone looking for a reliable, no-fuss option, I highly recommend The Basic. It hits the spot every time. 🤌

Omelette was a mixed into egg mixture rather than a filling. I didn't care for it as the spinach over powered the eggs. I told the server this. She said that the cook prepared all omelettes the same way.
