Charlie’s Homemade Ice Cream & Burgers

Holy moly! This place is delicious! I consider myself to be a burger snob. These burgers are homemade and you can get them cooked to the temp that you want. My daughter ordered the triple triple Burger. She was not disappointed! They have a challenge where you can see how fast you can eat the triple challenge along with a milkshake and soda You can win a T-shirt. The onion rings were so delicious! Largest onion rings ever! They have homemade ice cream, but we are too stuffed to get some today. This is definitely one of my top faves. I think we’ll stop here again before we leave the area.

We’ve been here a few times, as we live close by. This last time we met the owner, and had a lovely conversation. She was warm, and very welcoming. The burgers are, in a phrase, top notch! These are not frozen patties popped onto a grill. You really feel as if they were prepared by an aunty in her kitchen. High quality burgers, and THICK! I enjoyed the Philly cheese-chicken Sammy. It was amazing, with a great mouth feel and flavor that made you think of walking down a sidewalk on a chilly afternoon, noshing on a huge sandwich. Balanced, and seasoned well. I got a side order of Tots, and it was almost too much for me to finish. Their ice-cream is incredible, with enough flavors to satisfy the pickiest of eaters. Great little place for freshly made burgers and homemade ice cream! Has a Mom and Pop feel inside. And the three young adults that were on duty today were all awesome! They were polite, they smiled easily, they did their jobs well, and kept a clean place. The burger was fresh and I would order it again. Now comes the ice cream: we ordered three different flavors. The killer chocolate was just that and by far my favorite because it was dense, decadent, and absolutely deliciously dark!! Next in line was the raspberry chocolate chunk. It was fine, okay. A bit fluffier than the killer chocolate, but nice as is. Now the salted caramel is another story. I've had salted caramel before and it's been lovely. Probably a 2 but giving them the benefit-we go to Charlie’s at least once a month in winter and more in warmer months. We stopped by Thursday and were hungry for a Hamburg, machine down so couldn’t ring any one, stopped by today to get a bowl of chili and they were out of chili. What’s going on?

Food was good, place was cute, but needs better ventilation (was smoky!!). We got a kids grilled cheese, nuggets, and hot dog, as well as adult burger and chicken sandwich. All the food was great. The onion rings and fries sides were super good (curly fries were only ok). The ice cream was good too! (Got a chocolate shake, strawberry shake, and Superman cone) If we’re coming through town again, we’ll definitely be back!
