Charlie The Butcher's Express

My first beef on weck and it did not disappoint! Loved it and the gentleman behind the counter was wonderful. He explained the history, how it's cooked, and what you put on it, but I liked it plain. Great experience for a SoCal kid.

Stopped here for a bite on the way home from PA. The roast beef here is to die for! Charlie’s has my favorite beef on weck in the area. We tried it with gravy this time, and got the Mac and cheese and potatoes on the side. Everything was delicious as always

Well it’s a Speedway Gas Station, so not much of a dine in place, but they do have a couple small tables inside and picnic tables outside. But the FOOD IS STILL EXCELLENT! I love their roast turkey with all the fixins and their German Potato Salad. They were perfect, just like on Wehrl Road.

I have never had a bad sandwich from CTB until today. The last time my sister visited me she had a very tough sandwich. Today, I could hardly eat my beef. One would think a butcher would know when slicing if the meat would be inedible…today it was absolutely inedible. I couldn’t even bite through it! Awful. So disappointing!!

Always good beef on weck, never skimps on the roast beef😎 never felt the need to complain, they make the best horseradish sauce. Three benches outside are the only places to sit and eat so hopefully it's not cold, snowing, or rainy outside.
