Charley's Deli and Grille

I have been coming here for well over 20 years when the dad first opened. Best Philly steak sub around I always get a little laugh when I have to fight the McDonalds line wrapped around. Little do they know right next door is a place that is faster and far better food for only about $1 more.

Charlie’s has the best French toast anywhere. Thick slices of Texas toast, perfectly grilled with a secret recipe or ingredient they will not divulge. You can order a half size portion (4 halves) but it tastes so good, better to bring extra home and reheat in toaster. Highly recommend.

A place chosen by random or fate. I have found a not so secret place, it seems Charley's is known. It doesn't seen overwhelmingly busy atm. However my group and I found the good was so good we forgot to take before photos. Everything looks and tastes freshly made with kind and considerate workers taking orders. They even seem to work with people when creating new food ideas on the menu. Like me with added Hummus to the steak and cheese sub. (The handsome male who took my order even went the extra step to take off the orginal sauce so the sandwich didn't have a clash of taste. Never would have thought of it if it weren't for him!!) We swung through to order carryout, just a Ruben and some fries to split. When I tell you that Ruben exceeded all expectations, believe me, I mean it. The Fries as well were crisp and delicious. We waited no more than 5 minutes for food, and even then I’d have waited longer for a sandwich that good. This place feels like a well kept secret, and definitely deserved more attention. Will be back soon!

This place used to be awesome. Went back recently, and the food took FOREVER. I understand they make it fresh, but it took over twenty minutes for 4 subs, and the place was empty. Girl taking our order was not knowledgeable about anything on the menu. My wife's turkey reuben had literally one slice of turkey on it.. she was so disappointed. The food was good, but not good enough to justifying going back, with how far downhill this place has gone. Eating area is dated, stained ceiling tiles etc. The cook was sitting in the eating area watching racing while not cooking.. not super professional. Probably won't be back. (Apparently I'm a liar, per the owner.. nice customer service 🐓)
