Charles County Public Library - Waldorf West

I visited this library today to work on some assignments I’m grading. It was a nice, quiet place to focus, and the environment itself seemed good for getting work done. Unfortunately, I couldn’t get past the awful smell that lingered throughout the entire library. It was strong enough to make the experience unpleasant, which was disappointing because otherwise it would have been a great spot to work.

This place is One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest part 2. Very noisy. Bring ear plugs. Library personnel speak at full volume explaining simple stuff to people. Wackos at the computers singing to themselves. Children’s running wild. Shut it down now.

This is a very nice library. They have a good selection of new books, computers, and the staff is nice and helpful. They also have a good amount of interesting activities though I wish they had more activities for adults-classes on finance, for example. It's irksome that they do not have enough seats when it gets busy. Also the only place you can eat in the library is the small dining section and those 8 or so seats are taken up by people tutoring, reading, or on lap tops, not eating. Overall, it's a good place for the community to have.

Great little library for little ones! They have story time on Mondays and the first floor is the kids section with so many book options. The upstairs is for adults. I can't say I've used it much but I looks nice.

Lovely place to study. Staff are friendly and knowledgable. Generally kept at a pleasant temperature. Great selection and plenty of computers and resources. My only complaint is that some of the younger patrons don't seem to understand that conversations are best saved for outside, but my headphones help block that out during my study sessions.
