CharBar Co. Burgers & Sushi

Went for Restaurant Week menu 2026. Lots of options, Good selections from each section on the menu. I went with Green Goddess salad, Backyard Slider w Sweet Tater Tots, and Candy Bar in a Jar. My wife had the Wedge salad, Charbar Burger Slider w Onion Rings, and the Chocolate Dirt Cup. All was presented nicely, salad side and slider on one plate. My salad was bigger than I could finish. But I pushed the whole slider in. Lots of tot’s, did not finish that, and ate 75% of the jar. Was good and what i expected if not more. Would give 4.5 if they did half stars.

We heard great things about the burgers from CharBar and had to check it out. We went to an early dinner on New Years Eve, so maybe that was partially the reason for the poor service and lack of ambiance, but it did cause me to lower my rating. Our server clearly wanted to be somewhere else and was far less than friendly. As a former server twice in my life, I totally understand... but, if you want to be in the service industry, you have to cowboy up and put on a good face for your customers. He did get better as the meal went on, but he was almost downright hostile to start. Okay, so now on to the food. I got the breakfast burger (GF bun) with a side of bacon cheese fries. The area we were seated in was extremely noisy due to a large loud group seated near us and kind of smoky like something had been burned in the kitchen. Not realizing the size of the burger I ordered a double and it was huge but very greasy and had a really odd taste. My wife ordered the BLT Chicken Sandwich and she said it was tasty. It is a place I may go back to at some point if I was in the area but definitely would not make a special trip to eat here.

We stopped here for lunch since it was right next to the vacation club we were at, and we were very impressed at the ambiance, cool menu, and great service. A lovely young lady named Emily greeted us and promptly sat us; she also waited on us. Emily is great at her job, she made us feel so welcome and not rushed, she went over the menu with us and made great recommendations. We had the Volcano (friend shrimp and topped with crab) sushi roll and also the Over The Rainbow roll (a colorful array of tuna, salmon, and avocado on top!), and were so stuffed, we decided to go back later to try one of their amazing, award-winning burger selections. If you're in Hilton Head, you should definitely come here for lunch or dinner and ask for Emily! 🤩🍣

There was a nice outdoor area where we sat. They had tvs on and offered to change it to a game we wanted but they didn’t have that station. That man was nice. Our waiter seemed a little annoyed he had to wait on us. My husband said the burger was bland - didn’t really have any flavor. My sushi roll was alright but I thought the tempura coating tasted a little weird.
