I discovered this place last August when I needed somewhere to study late at night, and I’ve been a regular ever since. I don’t live in the neighborhood, but I happily travel here because it’s truly an absolute gem. It’s quickly become one of my favorite spots. Some of my favorites are the Whiskey Smash Latte, which is creamy, slightly salty, and a little sweet; the Ardmore Old-Fashioned, with a subtle coffee flavor; Strange Clouds, a bourbon sour with a light berry flavor that’s tangy, slightly sweet, and really refreshing; and their seasonal/monthly cocktail, Winter of Persephone, a sour with torched rosemary that perfectly captures the warmth of winter. This is a place for everyone. I’ve seen parents with strollers, joggers, students, families, people on dates, or just hanging out. Th
This place has quickly become our go to for our morning cafe runs. We seem end up in the same place everyday LOL. We love the coffee, calm atmosphere, and top notch bakery selections. My favorite is the vanilla beignet and my wife's favorite is the almond croissant. I don't know how long it will be on the menu but our favorite latte right now is the Spiced Apple Chai Latte (dirty). We aren't big drinkers but it's cool that you can order alcoholic beverages as well.
Wish I had a Char & Stave in my town♥️ Love the whiskey barrel aged coffee. Hard to express what the coffee does to your taste buds. Had both a cortado and a whiskey smash latte. Bought some beans for our espresso machine because we enjoyed the flavors so much.
This is a quaint spot to come and get a cup of coffee and either get ready or unwind for the day. There's mostly two top tables, but can be pushed together. I wouldn't come with more than 4, but if it's just a party of 2 then you'll be fine. I did notice that they have more than one location. This location, space is limited. I was feeling under the weather and my order "prescription strength" was perfect. There was turmeric, but it wasn't strong as there were other herbs included. "Pastries" was listed but at the time of our arrival it was only a single croissant. Bring your own snacks and come here for the drinks. Enjoy!
The only difficulty is that it is so good, it is too crowded, too often. Every experience here is friendly, warm and joyful. Much more so than almost anywhere else on the Main Line. The coffee beverages are supreme, so much so that I will go out of my way to get one in the cold morning light, especially from Syl. Their cocktails are marvelous, and even better on a day off at noon. I hope we have a Char and Stave like this one in every neighborhood soon.
