I recently dined at Chapter One Food and Drink and overall had a great experience. The rigatoni bolognese was absolutely delicious — rich, hearty, and perfectly cooked. The calamari was also exceptional, crispy on the outside and tender inside, one of the best I’ve had in a while. The mussels, however, were a bit disappointing; they had an off taste, almost as if they weren’t completely fresh, which threw the dish off a bit. On a brighter note, the arugula salad was fresh, and balanced. The drinks were great, and the waiter’s service was attentive and friendly, adding to the positive atmosphere. Despite the hiccup with the mussels, I’d still recommend Chapter One for its welcoming vibe and standout dishes like the rigatoni and calamari.

We had an absolutely fantastic experience at Chapter One in Guilford! The food was outstanding from start to finish — every dish we tried was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. The kids’ mac and cheese was a huge hit (creamy, cheesy, and definitely not your average kids’ meal). The brunch burger was juicy and delicious, and the BLT with avocado and cucumber was a fresh twist on a classic — light but packed with flavor. Our Bloody Marys were spot on — perfectly seasoned and a great complement to the meal. The service made the experience even better: every staff member was friendly and attentive, and the owner personally stopped by to chat with us and make sure everything was perfect. Chapter One has that great balance of cozy and classy, and it’s clear they really care about their

If I could give more than 5 stars I would. Went here on a Wednesday for happy hour. We sat outside on the patio on a beautiful day. The patio is gorgeous. There's a beautiful lawn behind it with some art sculptures. It's very serene and amazing. The happy hour cocktails were delicious and inexpensive. We had the mango habanero wings and the loaded fries. Both were 9.5/10. Our server was funny and friendly. 10/10 experience. Will definitely go back. If you've been before and haven't been back, you owe it to yourself to go as soon as possible. Update: Went for brunch. 10 stars. Best eggs Benedict and home fries I've had. Period. Update 2: Chapter One has not always had the best reputation in Guilford, but that is in the past. They have reinvented and upped their game and are in the big le

The food was awful and substandard - it was expensive and poor quality. We went to Chapter One for a special occasion. We arrived on a Saturday night and only two other parties were there. There was a snowstorm earlier in the day, so we thought maybe that was the reason but two other restaurants within walking distance were booked, but since it was 7:00pm, we decided to give them another try. Each of our meals were disappointing. The calamari dish was so small and the amount of calamari given was scarce - only a few and the majority were hot peppers. The mussels were over abundant as an appetizer and they had an offensive smell to them, like manure. My salmon came raw in the middle so I sent it back. It took a really long time to cook it more, and when it came, it was completely burned an
