Customer Reviews
Lovely cafe perfectly located off of Michigan avenue in a quiet neighborhood close to home. Great atmosphere and service. Perfect for coming alone or with friends. Food is good. Have gotten the avocado toast 3 times here. Will keep coming back! Also appears to be dog friendly but have to confirm
Came in for dinner with a colleague. Had a long day travelling and the server asked where we want to sit, and I just said somewhere comfy. He gave us a table with a big comfy leather couch (thank you!) Ordered some drinks, apps, and dinner, I had a prickle pear mule (I forgot its name) and we shared a charcuterie board. Really solid cheeses and meats. I had the lamb rack, medium. The lamb was delicious, but the polenta was a bit oversalted. Overall, great experience and I would come back!
Absolutely loved Chapel Street Cafe — such a refreshing Aussie vibe right in the heart of Chicago! The mushroom burger was packed with flavor and a definite must-try. Also tried the mozzarella chicken parmas and goat cheese sandwich — both delicious and well-balanced. Great coffee, cozy ambiance, and super friendly staff. A perfect brunch spot — can’t wait to go back!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We enjoyed breakfast at Chapel Street Café & Restaurant on December 7th with a party of eight, and the service truly made our experience. Cam, our host, was delightful from the moment we arrived. Her communication was A+, and she graciously accommodated our large group with ease and warmth. She set such a positive tone for the morning. Our server, Monet, was an absolute ray of sunshine. She was attentive, kind, and incredibly impressive — she memorized our entire order, which left all of us amazed. That level of skill and care does not go unnoticed. The food was delicious, but it was Cam and Monet who really put the perfect finishing touch on our Chicago weekend. Their service made our farewell breakfast memorable before we headed to Bloomingdale’s and then back to Michigan.
An Australian breakfast joint? Yes please! We were there for brunch and so many great options to pick from. I had the full Aussie but the salmon bagel and avocado toast also looked legit. Great cup of coffee!
