Chad's Chowder House

We both had the fish and chip meal with a cup/bowl of chower. We also tried the clam cakes. All the food was very good, the chowder is definitely one of the best in the area. The fish had a crispy batter. We dined in and the service was very quick even though there were several guest and they were busy with take-out orders. In the past, I have had other items like the lobster roll with mayo, stuffed quahogs, tuna melt, lobster bisque, fried shrimp, clam roll and every thing has always been delicious. They even have desserts. Cute diner like atmosphere.

My nieces and I decided to try someplace new. When they heard "Chad's Chowder House," they thought the restaurant would be snooty, when they saw the store front, they didn't know what to expect! What we received was delicious food, friendly service, and good prices for what we received! When the server found out I had a good allergy, the owner came out and helped me find items I could eat. She was considerate, patient, and extremely helpful. Don't miss this delicious stop!

The Portuguese clam cakes were crazy good. But the lobster roll and fries were the worst. Apparently this is a $20 lobster roll. The smallest hot dog bun with no flavor and a couple of, not chopped up, pieces of meat.

I have been coming here for many years. Approximately 30. My grandmother use to take me here when they were located on route 138. I fell in love with their chowder and grilled cheese then. I have been coming to them since having their world’s famous chowder that I simply can’t get enough of. The owner is always so sweet and kind. I even know someone who worked there a long time ago. Their chowder is very rich and creamy and done unlike any other chowder before. They have the BEST clam cakes too
