Cedars of Williamsburg Bed & Breakfast

On our first trip in years, traveling by air from Boston, my husband and I visited Williamsburg, Virginia to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary and visit Colonial Williamsburg and Jamestown. We experienced warm southern hospitality from host Alex who also cooked delicous breakfasts each morning and entertained us with lively conversations. Up on the third floor, we stayed in the Thomas Jefferson room where we found the mattress very comfortable along with the pillows to which I'm pretty picky about. We found both bathroom and bedroom clean and with the older home charm we were seeking. The absence of a television allowed me to read my book at night before bedtime. We enjoyed our visit and wished we could have stayed longer than our planned 3 nights. We will return!

A lovely Inn/Guest House/B&B. Colonial charm. Great welcome. Enthusiastic owner. Just a short walk to Williamsburg centre and not far from Jamestown. Free parking. Great breakfast and good value. We stayed in the Martha Washington room which was small with a tiny bathroom. Not a problem for one night but larger rooms are available if required.

A new favourite of ours. Beautifully presented house, exceptionally clean & comfortable. Alex is an active super knowledgeable host with many great curated suggestions to make your visit even more valuable - which will always follow a tasty breakfast.

This is a beautiful, clean and charming Inn with a very hospitable and present host to make your stay perfect. Breakfast is made to meet your personal needs. The Inn is an easy walk to historic Williamsburg and the beautiful campus of the College of William and Mary. We highly recommend the Cedars for your next stay!

Firstly the good points - perfect location for walking into Colonial Williamsburg and the university. Easy parking. Well presented and lovely home cooked breakfasts. 2 stars for this! Comfortable bed minus the pillows which were shocking and lumpy. Tiny towels, no hairdryer in the room so I had to pillage one from a cupboard on the landing. Unfortunately though this place isn’t for us … 2 aircon units were immediately outside one of our bedroom windows (at the same height) and when they kicked in it was so noisy. Plus it was mucky - there was rubbish under the bed (tissues and a plastic bit off something) and the shower was dreadful - black mould and bodged repairs with silicone. Sorry, but this fell below standard and I can’t recommend.
