Cavallo's Deli and Imported Italian Foods Waterbury

Don’t call yourself an Italian deli if you’re using frozen store brand chicken cutlets and sauce from a jar. My chicken parm on a roll was cold, flavorless, and expensive for something a kindergartner could’ve made. Super disappointing.

My question is this: how can anyone be so bold as to travel past or into Waterbury, and ignore this beacon of hope? This is quintessential grinder territory; another required stop--PILGRIMAGE, let's be honest--for those who adore the true Connecticut grinder. There is not one item on their menu that does not belong. And while it is a bit unfortunate that there is a bakery that closed that would make their sandwiches explosive (fare thee well, Milite's), the new bakery that provides for them definitely makes the mark. The ingredients are always fantastic, the combinations just send your brain to Saturn, and to those who travel & want to take a taste back with them, these sandwiches freeze beautifully! Celestial! And absolutely worth the trip.

I just wanna say the food here is absolutely delicious! The environment is so welcoming and feels comforting. The workers are phenomenal! A women with very short hair took my order, she was extremely welcoming and sweet. My sandwich was superb! It’s such a family oriented environment, everyone always smiling. Definitely will be coming back.

OMG, I love this place! Their food is fantastic family owned business. I’ve been going there since I was a kid! When I go there and order one of their fantastic creations it makes me feel like I was a kid again eating my Noni’s Italian food! Thank you, and God bless you for letting me relive my youth!😍

I’ve gone to this place many times the grinders are usually amazing. I went to go grab a grinder today for lunch and it has no meat on it at all like I’m very disappointed in the sandwich.
