Castaneda's Mexican Restaurant

We read some great reviews and are always looking for fresh, well made, authentic Mexican food so we decided to give it a try and I was very impressed with my entire visit. The service was top notch, the quality of the food cannot be talked more highly of, and the queso was delicious! For being a small family owned business they truly pour everything they have into their food and it shows! They have great pricing and margarita specials regularly. The restrooms and restaurant was very clean and well kept. I will definitely be back and I hope others discover this diamond in the rough sooner than later!

Ordered a dozen tacos and 2 sides of rice and paid 56 dollars. The food was horrible. I called and the girl who says she's the manager Annette was rude and said knew what I was paying for and I said no I did not or I would have never purchased that slop. It was so greasy and shells were raw and they shorted me a side of rice. Ridiculous to be a manager and not try to fix the issue but say u knew what u paid and what do u want me to do wow nice.

Figured we would give it a try. Did not want to drive into Magnolia around rush hour on Friday, so we went the other direction into Plantersville. If you blink you will miss this place... Small building right off the road next to a tire shop. Greeted quickly and seated. Seems the place was clean and the service was welcoming, and warm. The owner asked us a couple times how things were going. Was nice that he was checking in. Was surprised about the margarita, one large one and I was feeling it. I had them throw jalapenos in it to give it spice... Was really good. Food was pretty good. I had the Plantersville special, and the wife a couple tacos. We dine here once or twice a week. Never disappointed! Breakfast is excellent! This week I tried the shrimp cocktail. Very tasty and good sized shrimp. My favorites are the Enchiladas Verde or the Tacos al Carbon beef fajitas. The fajitas are always delicious!

We’re city people and are desperate for spots that have that homey feel, and this is it! Before we even got our food we were already in love because of the yummy frijoles dip. Highly recommend this place and the lovely folks who run it!
