Get the Tupigs and the purple rice coconut pudding. These two are the most delicious desserts Casa Victoria has. They have a bunch of other rice puddings and rice based cakes - but these are forgettable. .Absolutely avoid any stuff in the fridge as far as possible. The fridge has problematic fungal spores which end up on any rice pudding stored in them. Stick with the fresh puddings, cakes and baked goods outside on the counters. Check everything you buy thoroughly - quality is very hit or miss. The store has a large number of interesting Philippine groceries - which folks might not find elsewhere.
We spent $350+ here to get some catered food for a Filipino family gathering. We ordered several dishes but most of it was bad: vegetables and meat were cut in huge chunks, the caldereta didn't have enough sauce, some vegetables were undercooked and felt very raw, the Ube was grainy (instead of milky), the pancit looked like a rancid German pub salad and had a lot of water at the bottom and barely any noodles... Terrible experience, the cooks here are no good unfortunately... The only items that were good were the BBQ skewers, the egg rolls and the casava cake. I won't ever come back here.
I'm very disappointed 😞 when I opened the box of empanada I ordered before Christmas 🎄 to casa Victoria , because empanada is burn 🔥and I travel just to buy empanada from NY to NJ wasting my time 😑
We bought a whole lechon and we paid extra for a Lechon de Cebu. Was very disappointed. Lechon was bland, no taste at all. No salt or even spices inside the belly. Meat was still raw in some parts. Was very embarrassed to my visitors. Will not recommend. Paid $300 for the lechon.
I had late lunch here, and the elderly looking staff (they could probably be the owners themselves) told me to eat first, then pay later. I did. I also got a bottle of soysauce from the Philippines, plus a bag of chicharon (awesome treats!). You can actually get more Philippine stuff from here. Kinda quirky space and place. But I like it. It's welcoming, and gets me reminder of some similar places back in the archipelago. I am sure I will be back. I have been here before but never really paid attention to what they have, as well as to their name. I know they have been around for some time now. I am grateful they are still doing business.
