Carr Valley Cheese

I can only eat sheeps milk cheese. This is the place that makes it. Cute tiny little shop off the creamery. The two little ladies there were absolutely amazing!!! Fun to talk with.

I like their cheese but have been having issues with bad cheese from time to time over the past 3 years. I have never taken any back because I am too far away from the store when I find out they are bad. The last time I was there (7/25/2025) I noticed cheese in the refrigerators that was outdated and had to dig two-thirds of the way through the stack to find some with a good shelf date. I also bought two other products made by other businesses that they have on their shelves, cashew crunch, and Driftless Provisions salami. I did not look at those freshness dates and should have. The cashew crunch had a sticker freshness date on the bottom of 5/10, and the salami had an expiration date of 5/28/2025. The salami was 25% off, which should have been a clue that it might be getting close to its

Best place around for fresh curd. Clerk was knowledgeable and friendly.

My favorite cheese stop up north! They have a variety of cheeses and lots of giftable items (includes boxes of cheese they can ship!). For those with allergies, like me, all their cheeses are labeled with a specific color so you know what animal the cheese comes from. Makes the process so easy! If we're in Wisconsin it's nearly impossible to not stop here and get cheese curds and bread cheese for the road!
