Carlo's Trattoria

This used to be one of my favorite Italian restaurants. Sadly not any longer. Service was not top notch had to wait quite a bit for someone to come to the table to take our order. Had to ask for everything. My glass was empty twice and no one offered to refill it. A lot of standing around on cell phones and talking of the staff. Not crowded so service shouldn’t have been a problem. Food was not as good as it had been previously. Sauce was bland and not that great. Portions used to be very good now they’re smaller. But the cost went up. Tried it a second time after this experience and it was almost identical to the last visit. Come on step it up!

Next time I try out a new restaurant, I’ll be sure to read the reviews rather than go on someone’s recommendation. This place has apparently had problems with service and their food for years – I find it hard to believe that anyone would go back. We went today around 1:30; Server was pleasant enough at first, but ultimately did not want to hear that we weren’t happy with our food. The “House Italian” dressing is literally just vinegar and oil which we felt should have been stated. One of us got spaghetti and meatballs, the sauce tasted like tin can and the meatballs tasted as if they were frozen. I got chicken Alfredo. Carpets needed swept they had paper or something that looked like paper and food crumbs throughout the restaurant. The pizza was super bland the blandest pizza I ever had. The meatball melt was really good. The meatballs and sauce were flavorful. I don’t think I’d be back though but I’m glad I tried it. Overall not worth.

I might be the maddest at a restaurant I have ever been ! Being in the restaurant industry for a long time and constantly preaching hospitality- to then try a small town restaurant for the FIRST time after a very long day and knowing it closes in 1 hours and 10 min ( we checked because we would not of come if it were much closer to closing- to be told - do you have a reservation? No- I say there are 4 tables in here none bigger than a 4 top ( also saw us standing there and never once acknowledged) which no where does it state you have to have a reso., I asked to speak with a manager she states she is one, says sorry we had a call off - are you kidding me - then LOCK your doors, There were 3 FOH people standing there - and no one can help make pasta for 6 adults and 2 children! I have been here many times and loved it. However this time... wow. Barely anyone in the restaurant but all the staff was hanging out laughing around the counter. It took 10 minutes from when I was seated until I was greeted. There were only 6 tables with guests seated. Now the food. I could have microwaved Aldi spaghetti and sauce and had better flavor. Truly bland food. And the food was luke warm at best. I couldn't tell if the food was microwaved, if it was there was the same effort put into making the food as the staff making sure their guests were taken care of. I am very disappointed, this was one of my favorite Italian restaurants. Do better
