Carbon County Public Library - Main Branch (Rawlins)

This library is my absolute fav place, we go at least once a week. They have tons of sections and plenty of seating, specifically a kid’s room with toys. The staff is fantastic and gives tons of information.

When traveling through Rawlins I tried to stop in at the Carbon County Library. I travel with a service dog which any respectable dog owner wouldn't just tie up and leave outside. On entering the library I encountered the lady branch manager. She said I could not come into the library with my dog. I explained he was a well behaved service dog which provided hearing services for me. (The ADA requires a person to identify the animal as a service animal and what service it provided. Service animals by law are allowed to be with their owner any place the public is admitted.) She persisted and said I could not come into the library. Instead of causing a problem I asked if I could sit in the lobby and use wifi. That was allowed, but she was violating federal law in refusing me and my se

Wow. A fine place. Executive Director was a pleasure to meet. I was interested in use of a meeting room. I was elated with good feelings as I was given a wonderful tour of all the new library. If you are a resident, stop by and see a facility and people we should be proud of.

The library is now in the dark basement where no one can enjoy any view and the road is ridiculous! I go to this building as little as possible.Total botch of a remodel. If your goal was to make sure no one went to the library congratulations that was definitely achieved.

The Librarian was friendly and very helpful. She helped me understand how to use there Public Computer, how to printout a document, and assisted me in scanning printed documents to send via email. I thank her for her understanding and help. This Library has awesome friendly staff.
