Captains Place

This place has a real "townie' feel to it: good food, comfortable setting, and very reasonable prices. I got the impression that most of the customers were "regulars." I really liked the Caldo Verde (very rich and flavorful), and my husband's salted cod dish (fried, with olive oil and onions) was very good. My Pork Aletejana was a bit too salty, and the meat wasn't nearly as tender as it should have been, but it wasn't bad. The portion sizes here are enormous - clearly enough for two meals or more. The flan was homemade and quite tasty; the espresso was burned and left something to be desired, but I find that to be the case at most Portuguese restaurants. We loved it. Very friendly servers and staff! They were Very busy and still kind and welcoming to us. The steak was cooked perfectly medium rare as I asked, the calamari was also perfect and ample portion. Thank you all so much. 🙏🏼

The service was superb. I ordered the Junior steak thinking I would get a small portion. It was quite a generous portion. The steak was perfectly cooked to order. The fries and rice were tasty. I enjoyed a side garden salad with the white Zinfandel dressing. It did not disappoint.

Great local Portuguese food. Really good calamari, some of the best around. Must try if you come. Some of my favorites are steak Serrano, cod fish murro ( messy & stinky) but delicious dish. Wife loves shrimp captain style. Little necks bulhao pato (garlic and white wine) are great too. Get some grandma pudding to go. God size portions.

Great place for dinner out. Quick friendly service and the food is great. Many bigger groups come in for celebrations and they will push the tables together. My favorite is the clams casino! My margarita was very pretty and taste great too! Full bar inside with seating!
