Captain D's

Call me surprised. I grew up loving Captain D's, but I feel it's fallen on hard times in the last decade. I don't see as many. They're hard to find, and the one or two I've eaten in left something to be desired. So imagine my surprise when we found this gem! I was in the mood for nostalgia, so I brought my wife and little kids here on a road trip. We were the only ones in the restaurant. But the gentlemen working here did an exceptional job serving us. They were kind and prompt. The food was very good, and we could not believe the portions. We got one of the family meals for four, and we took home over half of it. If it's been a while since you had some Captain D's, and you're in the area. I would recommend this one.

The lady that took our order was such a darling! This was our first time visiting a Captain D's and we were super satisfied. Everything was fresh, piping hot, and delicious! I prefer my fish with malt vinegar, and they had this readily accessible at the table.

The food was delicious. The sanitation score is a 97.5. The cashier was pleasant and friendly I even got a coleslaw to go it was so good! I do recommend giving them a try if you’re iin Lumberton NC.

The young man taking our order was a delight. The food was the best we've had from this chain. I've been all over the country and this was the best I've had since the '90s. I will be back.

Stopped by on a Sunday (28 April 2024) after church. Even though it was during a lull in business, the food was EXCELLENT! I ordered the fish and shrimp platter, with extra shrimp. I was delighted to receive golden, crispy, light, freshly fried food. No dried up and hard held in the UHC for too long product for me.🥳 Although it's deep-fried, it wasn't greasy. The hush puppies were perfect! Fluffy, crunchy, and with a hint of onion that lived up well to the reputation of this delightful southern comfort food. The staff brought my tray to me, and there wasn't a hint of complaints when I dropped the sauces, and they splattered everywhere.....floor, walls, and both benches.
