Capitol Pizza - Thornton

Our go to pizza when in the area. Very friendly staff, reasonable wait (20 minutes for 2 pizzas) and good food. Pizza is fresh, great dough, not too much sauce, love the 2 different kinds of pepperoni. Mediterranean salad was very fresh and a great portion size. No dining in, take out and delivery only.

Is this place gonna blow you away with how good it is? Probably not. Is it locally owned and a good product that is far superior to Pizza Hut, Dominoes, etc etc? You bet your sweet caboose it is. As a pizza aficionado, it was fine. Was I impressed? Not really but that doesn’t matter because it was tasty pizza for a decent price. Was there A LOT OF CHEESE. Yes, but maybe you like a lot of cheese? Was their sauce great, I thought so. Did they have green chiles as a topping? YES! Bonus points for the 505 represent. Bottom line is it’s nothing special, but it doesn’t need to be. It’s an excellent “I don’t feel like leaving the house or cooking, rainy day, hungover day, etc etc” type of pizza and I would order it again.

This was my first time ordering pickup from Capital Pizza and certainly won't be my last. The pictures below show how much care goes into each pizza. Here's a few other reasons I think they absolutely deserve a 5 star rating... Jalapenos are fresh and have a nice kick. Canned jalapenos are for nachos not pizza. The prep area was very well organized and clean. This speaks volumes about the ownership. My pickup order was perfectly on time. I appreciate that because many restaurants finish orders well before pickup time leading to a less fresh product. I will always happily wait that extra few minutes for piping hot pizza. Just look at these photos! They taste as great as they look!

Best pizza in town hands down. I’m new to the area and I’m happy to say I’ve finally found my go to spot after trying everything else. The deluxe pizza tastes fresh and healthy with high quality ingredients. The staff is super friendly as well and was kind enough to give me some ranch when I asked for it. They’ve definitely won me over with that kind gesture. Will be ordering again soon.

This pizza shop was an undiscovered treasure! Ordered a 21-inch - crust perfect, generous slices. Watched them make it—and they took care and time like they were making for family—not that “slap something together to get it out the door” like dominos, Pizza Hut, (or sadly, Papa Murphy’s as of late). Pizza was delicious. Customer service friendly and just excellent. Call ahead to order for more convenience. They also deliver! Prices seem a little high to me, but if you want to splurge on the best pizza in Denver metro/Colorado, this is the place!! They also have a refrigerated unit with salads, desserts and drinks, and a freezer with frozen treats. They were out of take out, printed menus(which I prefer when ordering ahead).
