Capitol Diner

Stopped by Capitol Diner in Harrisburg. I’m a fan of retro diners and Capitol Diner is definitely one to check out if you’re in town. Friendly & attentive customer service at the counter. They have booth and bar seating. The parking lot had plenty of spaces even though it was busy. I sat at the bar & ordered their famous liver & onions which came with a salad, crab soup side, baked potato. The sides were great- baked potato was piping hot, salad was crisp & fresh, crab soup was creamy with lumps of crab meat. I ordered their liver well done. The liver & onions was drenched in a brown gravy that was a little salty. I preferred skimming off the gravy & just eating the liver & onions. Large portions! They accept cards & cash.

It's been 5 years since I've been to Capitol Diner so I wanted to write an updated review. I'm blown away by how clean this restaurant is. It has a typical diner style with stainless steel accents. The service is quick, and pleasant and the food is good. If you're in the area you should definitely check them out.

Stopped in to get their lunch special of 2 stuffed cabbages. The portion was HUGE! It was 2 meals in 1!! Also very tasty with perfectly cooked cabbage. I got it with pumpkin 🎃 bisque soup & mashed potatoes as sides. The soup was phenomenal & the potatoes good (& made from real potatoes 🥔). Hubs got the same except he got their cream of potato soup, which was very good. It should be mentioned all soups are made fresh, in-house! Our server was really nice & quite helpful, as well. Definitely good food for a reasonable price. I'd come back.

Stopped in for a quick bite before the Airport. Steak and eggs were good, I typically try CFS at a new place but the recommendation was the steak. Waitress could have been a little more welcoming, but it wasn't bad service. I'll go back no problem next time I'm in town.

Great food at a great price. Everything came out quickly and servers were attentive. A beautiful, classic diner aesthetic inside and out.
