This was my go to until yesterday, even with the subpar customer service from the cook. Wings were bleeding, greens had no flavor. Still giving 2 stars because the fresh seafood never misses.
This is the best seafood market around. I was in the area and stopped by since there is not a fresh seafood market where I live. This is my new spot. I will not go anywhere else! So let's start with the shop itself. It was clean and neat. Of course it smelled like seafood. But it was not overly fishy or disgustingly smelly. Next the staff...OMG they were so friendly. There was a black older gentleman who assisted us. I had questions. And he smiled as he thoroughly answered ALL of them. I had a moment where I saw my grandmother's favorite fish and got emotional. The gentleman was so kind. He actually kept engaged and shared in the moment with me. It only lasted a few seconds thanks to his interaction. Now the food...Listen this was the freshest and best fish I have eaten in quite some time.
My sister's and I stopped for carryout. Excellent choice of fresh seafood. The fish was fresh and good. Only one complaint. I bought 3 perch, fresh; so they had to be cleaned. Cost $19.00 This is my first time Ever, I had to ask for bread. I got it free but, was told that I wasn't charged for it. Cost 2 slices of white bread $1. Who sells fish without bread. Who??? They need to fix that. Don't nickel and dime your costumers. You have a good business; treat your customers well.
I went there at 11:15 am…..my food was NASTY! A beautiful mess of old grease! My catfish and shrimp was fried with a beautiful color and crispiness yet it was pure OLD grease!! Now I wouldn’t expect old great as soon as you open!! I spent close to $40 yet what I did Do was stop by IHOP and threw the shrimp and fish in the trash at IHOP!
I ordered flounder plate the fish was hot and fresh large portion lots of meat it had 2 pieces of flounder i got the cabbage and collards they were perfect in tast I have also had the okra that was excellent. This is my favorite place for seafood. Usually when you get take out it ends up being greasy however this was not. Good place to go and try it out you might not go somewhere else also.
