Oh my🤗🤗My girlfriend and I came to Donaldsonville from Thibodaux for a girls outing. Since it was Monday, most of the city’s businesses were closed BUT Susan from the Merle Norman Shop, suggested we stop by the Coffee Shop and pull in the door because Louis may be there? We drove there , pulled in the door and it was open. Louis came out and let us know the business was closed on Mondays and asked where we were from. We said Thibodaux and he said “come on in, I’ll make you a sandwich 🥪 🤗🤗 We experienced the most amazing, beautiful, honest moments thanks to Louis and his perfect curation of community coffee shop and meeting place. Please stop by —everything is handed out with true joy and appreciation for all❤️❤️❤️❤️

The Gem of Donaldsonville! Cane Sugar Toffee Shop is far more than a toffee shop. They serve the a variety of fresh homemade items including toffee, cakes, brownies, breakfast burritos, sandwiches, salads, and more. The toffee - flavor of the toffee was immediate, butter mixed with sugar and pecan so fresh that it went straight from the fields in Donaldsonville into the toffee. The coffee - I am not a fan of Community Coffee, so I was very surprised when I tasted the Brazilian dark roast and enjoyed it. While in Donaldsonville, I walked to Sugar Cane Toffee for every cup of coffee I drank. The homemade cakes looked absolutely delicious. But after purchasing a big bag of toffee, I purchased a boiled shrimp salad. It was good, but not as mouth watering as the fresh carrot cake or the home

Lovely coffee shop. Buzzing with friendly local folks & very welcoming owner. Only stopped in for a coffee & had the LuLa - it was an excellent iced coffee with sweetened condensed milk & molasses rimmed cup dipped in brown/raw sugar. Yummy treat for a hot late morning.

Louis (owner) took me in and treated this Minnesota boy as a local and friend. Great coffee, food, toffee, and service! I’ll be coming back.
