Canal Street Grille

We had a nice Valentine's Day dinner at Canal Street Grill. We started by sharing the Greek meatballs and mussels, both were excellent and highly recommended. ​The crab cakes were very good, mostly crab meat with very little filler. However, the pistachio salmon was a bit of a letdown. It was more of a pistacchio sauce than a crust, and the salmon was quite dry (could have used 3-4 minutes less on the heat). The pistacchio sauce was good, just too much of it. ​Also, if you’re seated by the windows with a canal view, keep your coat handy! It gets very cold by the glass. Overall, a decent experience.

My hubby and, I ordered the chicken park sandwich (crispy chicken) both of our sandwiches the chicken was so dry we couldn’t cut them or eat them. The fries were tasty tho. It was pretty upsetting. Straight into the trash. We did get them to go and, didn’t reheat them. I won’t be back.

good variety of food and nice location, would come again. the chicken florentine sandwich was verrry spinach heavy in flavor, not bad but avoid if that’s not what you prefer. Greek dip trio appetizer and calamari were very good

First time at Canal Street Grille and we were impressed. Good to have a nice local place with great service. Food was good. The place is a square room so everyone’s conversation is heard by everyone, perhaps having background noise or music might help keep some privacy, but will definitely visit again!!

First off, the service was impeccable. We were given good direction on what to order. The menu was clear on what was Gluten Free, which is important to me. The restaurant was nicely appointed and comfortable. BYOB was not a problem but short wine glasses could have been improved. After an appetizer of Dolmas, the food was served quickly. I had the Moussaka. Thr main issue that our party had was that the vegetables served came right out of a can and were not what I'd call restaurant quality. It must not be an issue to others as the restaurant was filling up as we left.
