Caliente Mexican Food

Fantastically yummy, and the protein bowl is exactly what I was looking for! Clerk at the counter super helpful, and had Coke Zero in a can. Recommended. Parking is tight, be aware.

I drove 20 mins out of the city to come here, and it did not disappoint. I would definitely eat here again if I lived in San Diego. I was happy with the pricing, food portion, and taste :)

Caliente is one of our favorite lunch spots! My coworker and I go there during our break, and it’s always a great time. Jorge is super sweet and makes everyone feel welcome. The food tastes like it was made at home so good and full of flavor. You can tell they care about what they cook. If you want tasty Mexican food and kind service, Caliente is the place to go!

Caliente Mexican restaurant is a typical San Diego taco restaurant at the end of Carmel Mountain road and intersection with Sorrento Valley Road. They have a great patio area to relax and eat your food. I had a carnitas taco which was excellent and the rolled tacos which were just ok. Staff was friendly and service was very quick with reasonable prices.

Food was great. I got a Cali burrito, flavor was there and everything combined well. However, my wife got a carne asada burrito and it was extremely greasy. The entire bottom half ripped apart by the time she got to the middle from so much grease. Not the type to complain in person.. otherwise I think it may have been a one off.
