Cajun Cooks

My experience at Cajun Cooks on Jonesboro was pretty basic overall. The food was okay, but nothing really stood out or wowed me. Service was decent and the staff was polite, but the overall experience felt average compared to other Cajun spots I’ve visited. The atmosphere was simple and casual, which is fine, but I was hoping for more flavor and excitement in both the food and the vibe. It’s an okay spot if you’re nearby and craving Cajun food, but there’s definitely room for improvement.

It’s frozen products fried well. Great price and quantity I didn’t like the onion rings or the okra, too much bread. You can tell that it was frozen and dropped in the grease. You can tell the fish is not fresh wild fish. We’re so used to frozen fillets without bones that we are not getting the real deal. I will say the flavors were pretty good on the wings and the fish. The hush puppies were dry and pre-frozen. I feel like the typical southern person of today’s times will find this place quick and accommodating with easy to eat fish, fried rice and chicken. We have an abundance of this in the hood. I had to drop a star because none of it was authentic, but very edible except for the sides I had. Update. A great location with excellent service. The restaurant is need and organized what a modern feel. They have specials with whole wings but I decided to get pieces. I got the 6 Wing spicy lemon pepper combo with fries and a drink. The wings were tender and fried well and the fries were seasoned. They also have seasoned salt and or Cajun seasoning to add to your fries. I really want to go back and try the fish next time. Great location too.

Food was old and re-cooked. That bag was tied so tight that by the time I got home over an hour away, the fish was dry and you could tell it was old and refried. I called to speak to someone at the number listed and the phone just rang with no answer.

I love to DoorDash this restaurant, it is by far my favorite fried fish ever. I get the fried red snapper with fried rice, and I really love the seasoning they put on the red snapper as it has a hint of lemon.
