Caffè Nero

We were in Boston with nine of us staying in the Jamaica plains neighborhood and stopped here for coffee and pastries every morning. The staff kind of adopted us as we are diehard Redsox fans from Iowa. I loved the Spiced Pear lattee as well as other drinks. The patries were amazing as well but it was the staff that made us feel at home.

Many people just order a cup of coffee and occupy a table for 3 hours or half a day. I don't think that is correct unless your home doesn't have heat and you need to keep warm in the shop. I saw people reading books phones, typing on laptops, or even knitting there etc. it would be ok if there is still plenty space available. If the shop is already full, please just be a bit thoughtful for others and don't occupy the space after your coffee. The shop has very limited space. It's not anyone's own living room.

Great people. Good coffee is easy to come by these days, but sincere people are not. We always enjoy passing through here after our morning walk.

This review pretty much applies to all the Caffe Nero's. In almost everyone I've been to the service is poor. This is because there is usually only 1 person taking orders and filling them. Crazy, right? I assume the owners are trying to keep staffing costs down. Tihs makes the lines long, the wait long. Also, it's typical for the staff be rather slow at everything they do. Too bad the management isn't better at supporting their staff. Starbucks has much better service.
