Cafe Twelve

Great sandwich, but limited selection and it feels like the deli is simply hanging on. The shelves and coolers are mostly empty, they’re only serving a slim portion of the menu, and it doesn’t feel particularly welcoming. However, the food tasted great (even if it wasn’t my first option) and it was fast service. It looks like they have a large to-go coffee bar in full swing.

We stumbled upon Café Twelve one morning while we were on a city break in DC. It is a quiet café but don't let that deter you as the food really hit the spot and you can grab your coffee to go as you please! Food: The menu is simple however, what they do is very good. It was 9am when we stopped by so a good breakfast was on our minds. We both got a bacon, egg and cheese, I got mine on a wrap and my fiancée got her's on sourdough. They cooked the food from scratch and they had it ready in a matter of minutes which was very impressive. You won't have long to wait here. After the food arrived I asked for some hot sauce to accompany my wrap and it was deliciously firey and tangy! Absolutely fantastic experience at this restaurant! The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, making you feel right at home. And let's talk about the food – delicious doesn't even begin to describe it! Their cheese steak sandwich is hands down the best I've ever had. I can't recommend this place enough.

The hot mozzarella panini with basil and pesto was absolutely heavenly! Possibly the best sandwich I’ve ever eaten! Lovely service as well.

Half the coffee machines weren't working, the jug of milk and creamer were empty, and the food was extremely underwhelming. The atmosphere leaves much to be desired and the furniture is barely held together, my chair was rocking back and forth because it had something loose. I ordered a ruben sandwich, it isn't a classic ruben at all and the deli meat they use was chewy like gristle.
