I had an okay experience here. It was pretty busy, so I do understand mishaps and wait times. But, my wife and I checked in and then had 4 other couples check in to be seated after us. Each of these couples were called and seated before us and we waited for around 35 minutes instead of being taken back first. We got our food pretty fast, then waited about 30 minutes after asking for the check and waiting for our credit card to come back to us. The food was also just so plain. The sauce and chicken in my dish and the artichoke dip tasted more like sour cream than anything else. My wife's burrito was also heavily lacking in flavor. Not necessarily bad food, but nothing to write home about.
These people are straight from HEAVEN! We have been going to this restaurant for four years! We have been to other Cafe Sabors and we love them, but NONE compares to this restaurant in Layton! The service is ALWAYS prima and the food is good enough to smother all over my face! We dined in tonight and were served by Marcella. She’s absolutely the BEST! I love her face! We ordered the Camarones al a diabla, carne tempiquena and a chicken nugget kids meal! My kid actually ate it and loved it! It was probably the best chicken nugget meal that we have ever ordered in a restaurant!
First time ever having food from this place. My work got it for us. Had the carne asada burrito…. It was alright. Some chewy pieces of meat that I had to spit out. Do not get any guacamole! The scoop on top of my burrito was already brown colored which is not good to consume at all. So that was not fresh at all. That’s disgusting!
The quality of the food has gone down significantly over the last few years! I always get the chicken chipotle salad and the one I got today was the worst salad I've ever had - maybe anywhere 😬. The portion was dramatically smaller than it used to be, but the worst part was that there was hardly any lettuce. I'm not exaggerating, there couldn't have even been 1/2 cup of good lettuce in it. Most of it was pale iceberg chunks that weren't worth eating. The chicken was not warm at all and seemed like it had been frozen, definitely not freshly grilled. The dressing was the only redeeming quality. But for $15, it's a hard pass. I could get 4x the salad and fresher and higher quality got $11 at Cafe Rio. My husband's burrito wasn't great either. He asked for extra sauce for his burrito - which
The carne asada taco was absolutely outstanding! The beef was perfectly seasoned and grilled with just the right amount of seasoning. The tortilla was fresh and warm, complementing the meat beautifully. What really elevated the experience was the salsa—spicy, bold, and packed with flavor. It had the perfect balance of heat and tang, enhancing every tortilla chip. Truly a must-try for anyone who loves classic Mexican flavors done right.
