Cafe Rio Fresh Modern Mexican

My family and I frequent cafe rio often, we love the food however service recently has taken a turn downhill. We ordered online from the layton location and when the order was brought back home we realized several of the salads were wrong. Specifically I had ordered a veggie salad with no cilantro. The salad I got had cilantro on it and was missing the pico, tortilla strips, and only had one scoop of guac (the veggie salad typically comes with two scoops). I had also specifically ordered the tortilla with melted cheese to help the tortilla from getting soggy. The salad however came with the cheese on top of the rice and beans not protecting the tortilla from getting soggy at all. We also had orders 2 large tortillas on the side and instead they swapped them and gave us 4 small tortillas.

The food always hits. But I don’t think I’ve ever been to a café Rio more chaotic, chickens running with there heads cut off-esque, ever. There was some 30 year old working the take out line that I swear her diet consist of red and blue crayons. Again, the food is always good, I just didn’t appreciate the extra hour and a half that I had to wait for it (2nd time now). Recommend avoiding on the weekends.

I come here often and order the same thing. I’ve never encountered an employee who isn’t kind, patient, and giving great service. We got take out here on Christmas Eve and for some reason, my rice tasted horrible. My husband got the same rice and his was fine but he tried mine too and it was bad, I couldn’t even eat it. It’s hard to explain but it was mushy and super salty. I love this place so I called and asked if I could have my food remade. They put me on hold and got a manager. When they came back on the line, they told me to come in and get a new salad. I came in and they had already told the employees so they were expecting me. They told me the batch of rice they used is still the same so I opted for no rice. All of the employees were so kind and accommodating. They apologized many

This was my first time ordering and picking up from this restaurant. They were efficient in getting me my food on time. The customer service was excellent. The restaurant was nice and clean. The food was great except they gave me a flour tortilla that was hard. Glad I ordered an extra one! But they had to have known it was hard when they packaged it up with my soup. I will eat here again, though!

Lucky I give it two stars, the only person that was kind and helpful was the guy at the very beginning asking what we wanted, after that the woman topping our salads barely spoke loud enough for anyone to hear her. Got frustrated with my grandma that she couldn’t hear her. The boy running the register could care less to help customers and looked upset when he had to put together our chips and queso. Bathroom is disgusting looks almost never cleaned. The fan in the men’s one is very broken and makes and horrid sound and is covered in disgusting dust and grime. The soda machine is not wiped down and had ice completely filling the drain on it, as well as no ice coming out. Over all just not a good cafe rio experience wouldn’t eat at this location again
