Cafe Italiano

Great atmosphere and ambiance. Very cozy surroundings. We had lovely and attentive service. I was not blown away by the food though. The pasta was said to be homemade and it definitely was not. Everyone at the table agreed. The entrees were pretty underwhelming and small. I ordered one of the specials and it was very plain. We loved our appetizers and wine, but that was about it.

A return visit two years after the below found a very steep decline in the food, although the atmosphere remains nice. Most seriously, the pasta in the seafood pasta dish was terrible. Cheesecake was very bad. The lamb dish was decent but skimpy. Can’t recommend. Hey all you NYC snobs this Englewood Italian has better food than 90% of the Italians in NYC and much, much better service and atmosphere. Rent a car and come out here to this very traditional and amazingly delicious Italian with the most incredibly nice host and attentive, professional, friendly staff you will ever find. The menu and specials were amazing, we ended up with the seafood pasta and a veal-eggplant parm dish that was incredibly delicious. Loved everything about it.

This was my first time here. The place is very comfortable and quiet. I really enjoyed it. The portions are just enough that you don't need to take any home. Service was attentive to not being intrusive yet well aware of when to bring your next place; appetizers to dinner well timed. Pleasant and polite, courteous. I enjoyed my food. Baby clams, oysters, red snapper. Calamari fried, and (I'll update you 😋) my wife sadly said what she had seemed bland. (I thought it was well seasoned. Nevertheless, I do want to come back to enjoy more delicious and different meals. Pictures posted.

An amazing Italian restaurant that has a superb lunch special. It comes with appetizers, your choice of salad or soup of the day, entree, and a fruit platter for dessert. The seafood linguini was authentic and cooked well, and overall the restaurant had a cozy yet lively atmosphere to it.
