Cafe Americana

You would think such a convenient place at IAD would be great, but no. Don’t even try. I fly a lot, and try and stop by here and there for a drink, a quick bite, or whatever. Every worker here is just moonlighting and couldn’t care less. There is never, ever, someone in the front of the bar to take orders. Sitting here now and the bartender and cook just went and sat at a table together to talk while customers are waiting. How on earth can this business run? This is every time. People are ALWAYS looking To pay their bill, get another drink, order food, etc. For example, after 15 minutes of the cook (chef coat) and bartender sitting at the table on their phones, I went to the kitchen area to see if perhaps they were relieved with others, but no. The girl literally “sqwaked” like a bird when she saw NO TIP. Baby the beers are $9 a piece and I only got 2. Why was my check $27 and you still wanted a tip!!! I’m a server, check yourself before you wreck yourself

My wife's plane was delayed over 30 minutes and this café was right near the carousel, so why not grab a quick pint? I didn't try the food, but the pizza appeared to be popular with other patrons. Both hostesses were very polite and attentive with smiles. If I end up in this situation again, I'd be happy to be a returning customer.

The service and quality of the food were terrible, which is a pity, as the restaurant is in a good location. The menu does not include the price of coffee and other drinks. The waiter was super rude because we only wanted coffee and desserts.

The waitress begging for tips. She will not give you the check if you are not giving tips. I tip her 10$ but she want more. She didn't even give a good service, rude. No water no table clearance but 10$ tip is not enough? She even told me to go back to my country as US people usually tips more than 20. C'mon I just buy a pepsi and fries but I need to tip more than 20$ for a rude service?
