C F Hays & Sons General Store

This place is like going back in time. The location, the setting, the products they sell. If you ever want to see first hand what it was like to shop in the 1930s or 1940s, stop here and be prepared to get transported back in time. And try a very good chopped BBQ sandwich 🥪 while you're there.

Be sure to check out this old fashion country store while in town visiting. This is not a replica of what the old country stores looked like. This is the original store with most of the original furnishing. Be sure to check out that beautiful sink near the back. Stunning! Rolling ladders for the merchants to reach the top shelves. You have to see this place.

We drove in from Perry to visit Dickey farms and one of the customers recommended coming to the general store for bbq. Bbq was a 👎 sandwich cold no flavor. Very disappointed. Customer service nonexistent.no greeting when we came in we walked around looking at the novelty items. Then walked to back where the food was “what do you want “ was the greeting. Some Georgia small towns just don’t change

I love visiting this old general store. Stepping through the doors is a step back in time. If you are visiting Dickey's, step across the street and enjoy a little nostalgia. If you are there during the weekend, try a BBQ sandwich and don't forget to pet the dog on your way out.
