Butler Guest House

This is a nice place to stay right next to the stadium on campus. It is also very affordable, clean, and traditional yet modern in style. Staff are friendly. I have stayed a couple of times for work and have just a couple of caveats for anyone traveling solo: there isn't a separate deadbolt on the doors, and the entrance is secluded yet accessible to anyone outdoors. This means that you check in through a front desk area in one building, exit that building into an outside courtyard that is accessible from multiple directions on campus, and enter a separate, unattended door to this freestanding building where the rooms are. While I haven't had a bad stay here, I've opted against staying again due to safety. I think if I were here with family or friends it would be a different story!

Bed and pillows are extremely comfortable. Nice small hotel located next to the stadium police department and my son’s dorm. $104 a night made it affordable and convenient. Lobby leaves a lot to be desired, but we weren’t here for a fancy lobby. Kid at the desk was professional and warm. Felt like we were staying with a family. The potty is so close to the shower doors they may have well put the whole thing in the shower. Room was extremely clean and well appointed. I will stay here again and again. Two words;”Shower. Vent.”

If you ever have the opportunity to stay here when visiting Mississippi State University, I urge you to do so. Conveniently located right next to Davis-Wade stadium and across the street from the Colvard Union it doesn't get more centrally located. easy walking into downtown Starkville for a bite to eat in the Cotton District or stretch your legs and head downtown. Rooms have very comfortable beds and real windows that open! HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

Favorite place to stay when visiting our daughter at State. Quiet, clean, and SO convenient to campus!
