Butera's - Bay Shore

Came here for a late dinner for two on a Monday night, no reservation needed and we were sat right away. This place isn't quite like all the other Italian places I've been to around the island that love to shape their atmosphere around brick and that old world Tuscan villa kind of vibe. It's much more modern and contemporary, and I actually kind of like that, even if the cheesiness of the others does give a nostalgic feel to me. There's some paid parking on the street and in a few nearby lots, and if you really want to stretch your legs there are a few free lots just a little bit further down the road. Our server, Jeffrey, was fantastic. On top of being very friendly and helpful, he checked in on us more than I can say for a lot of other restaurants! Sure it might have been a slow night,

We went as a party of 8 on a Sunday for an early dinner. The restaurant was less crowded at that time so we were seated right away. The menu was extensive and there was even a Gluten-free section with lots of choices. Everyone enjoyed there meals. They were also accommodating, my son doesn't like ricotta and they left it off his pizza, my sister wanted some protein with the ravioli so they add the breaded chicken into the dish.They also have a kids menu for the picky eaters.

Came for happy hour today. This place is always a hit - has never disappointed. Beck was our server she is great, so bubbly & sweet. Food and drinks terrific! You can never go wrong with their happy hour the portions are HUGE

While we experienced wonderful service (no complaints there) the food was lacking at best. I ordered the stripe steak, my favorite cut. The meat tasted old or just horrible quality. Any meat lover would understand this description. Metallic taste kind of like iron, barny, chewy with a gamey taste that left a coating in my mouth. I NEVERRRR write reviews, I was just so disappointed I felt it was my obligation to let it be known as this steak cost $50 bucks. While service was perfectly ok it was not why we went out to eat. Unfortunately we will not be patronizing this restaurant again. Hopefully they will reconsider where they source their steaks from in the future. Best of luck to them.

This is my second time here and once again, it did not disappoint! My two friends and I came here on Wednesday for lunch. We shared a Sunday Salad (lettuce, cucumbers, olives, red onion, pepperoncini, and foccacia croutons dressed w/ light housemade vinaigrette dressing). I love salad and this hit the spot...(not a fan of hot (spicy) foods so avoid the pepperoncinis if you can relate)! Lunch was Zucchini "Linguine"- Butera's famous housemade chicken sausage, crumbled, asparagus, spinach, and roasted tomato over thinly cut zoodles in a white wine sauce. It was delicious if just slightly too tangy. A light sprinkle of Parmesan cheese balanced the flavors perfectly though. We shared a warm gooey brownie sundae topped w/vanilla ice cream and homemade whipped cream for dessert. It was yummy. Al
