Great food, music, atmosphere and service with books and poetry. What a great combination! This place is great! Can’t say enough about how much we like Busboys & Poets! We love what they have going on here. We came for breakfast on a Saturday morning. It was not busy so we were able to quickly grab a table. Plenty of people were here but the space is abundant so it was open with moderate to low discussion volume. Kiona, our serve was good to us. We started with a Vanilla Carmel Latte and a Sweet Spice Latte. Both were great! For our meal we had the Western Omelette w/ Toast and a Mekhleme (a traditional Iraqi dish). Both were very good! This was the time having Mekhleme and boy was it tasty and hot as it come out in a skillet seemingly straight out of the oven. Gotta appreciate that.
Busboys and Poets is top notch!!! I came from a review I read since I am gluten-free and the options were amazing. First time out and had fried catfish, greens and jalapeño grits and no issues. They are gluten-free friendly but they go above and beyond and no issues for me🤗🤗 The atmosphere is FIRE as is the Food!! They have a bookstore will be here for a hot minute!!!
Outstanding food! I ordered using Uber Eats. Food arrived early which was surprising because it was New Year’s Eve. I only took a pic of the bag and the Vegetable Quinoa Bowl. My son had fried chicken. We also had some slices of garlic bread to complement something else we had. Each item had its own flavor. I kinda expected everything to have a stir fried (all been cooked together) taste. The chicken was very flavorful. This place really is great. I would to dine in some time.
Loved the decor, the story behind the name and the service. Derrick was amazing. We had a party of 7 and each of us had different entree. We were pleased with the food choices from for cracker shrimp and Brussel Sprouts to the lamb burger. Very tasty and flavorful. We recommend as a great spot for groups and good vibes.
Busboys and Poets was such a vibe! I came in for brunch and had the catfish and grits with a couple of mimosas. 100% hit the spot. The catfish was perfectly seasoned, crispy on the outside and tender inside, and the grits were creamy and comforting. The food alone would have been enough to win me over, but the atmosphere took it to another level. The space has this warm, creative energy, and I loved that the restaurant connects directly to a bookstore. It’s the kind of place you want to linger after your meal. Staff was super friendly and welcoming without being overbearing. Can’t wait to come back and try more from the menu and maybe grab a book or two next time!
